Multi-talented entertainer, Demetria McKinney has been proudly displaying her talents for years.  The Florida native has enjoyed a successful career on stage and on-screen, and has won numerous awards for her accomplishments.  However, even with an impressive resume to her name, McKinney’s career was still missing a key element.  In 2014, McKinney’s career received a bit of a boost when she began appearing on Bravo’s popular reality TV show, Real Housewives of Atlanta.  Although the show in itself is not an opportunity for McKinney to show her skills, it has allowed millions of her viewers to become aware of her and what she does.  Here are three things you didn’t know about Demetria McKinney.

3. Demetria McKinney has been in several films and TV shows.

Although many people may only be familiar with McKinney because of her appearances on Bravo’s Real Housewives if Atlanta, McKinney has been in several films and TV shows.  Other than RHOA, McKinney’s credits include The Ricky Smiley Show and Tyler Perry’s hit sitcom, House of Payne, for which she is well-known.

2. Demetria McKinney is an aspiring musician.

Like many people who appear on reality TV shows, Demetria McKinney has more going on in her life than just appearing on the show. In the summer of 2014, McKinney released a song titled “100,” in which she enlisted the help of Da Brat.  Since then, McKinney has been working tirelessly at her EP, Officially Yours.

1. Demetria McKinney believes in giving to those who are less fortunate.

Demetria McKinney certain isn’t taking her time in the spotlight for granted.  The 35 year-old star has been very involved in charity work, and, according to her website she “is very active in the community and often volunteers with young girls to talk with them about self-esteem. She also speaks to women who are facing problems with substance abuse as well as domestic violence abuse. She offers a story of hope and self-love and faith to all of them.”
